Led Zeppelin gig tickets sell for £83,000 at BBC auction

A Led Zeppelin fan has purchased two tickets to their upcoming reunion concert for 83,000 pounds at an auction for children in need.

Washington, November 16 : A 'Led Zeppelin' fan has purchased two tickets to their upcoming reunion concert for 83,000 pounds at an auction for children in need.

Kenneth Donell forked out the hefty amount at BBC Radio 2's Auction of Things That Money Can't Buy only to get a chance to see the legendary band rehearse and perform at London's O2 Arena on December 10th.

The show is part of a tribute concert for Ahmet Ertegun, the late founder of Atlantic Records.

The auction also saw Sir Tom Hunter splashing out a whopping 100,000 pounds for two VIP passes to the 2008 formula one Santander British grand prix at Silverstone.

One Martin Ainscough from Wigan also paid 250,000 pounds to have Aled Jones and Katie Melua perform an intimate show at Revolution in Manchester.

The proceeds will go to the Prince's Trust, reports Contactmusic.
