London, November 15 : The new owner of the Elvis Is Alive Museum has revealed that he will take the King memorabilia to his home State, Mississippi.
Andy Key paid 3,952 pounds for a collection of photographs books, FBI files, DNA reports and other memorabilia from the museum, which were put up for sale on the website eBay.
He said that he was contemplating keeping Elvis' memories alive, even though this was not the condition of the sale.
"I want to make this a tribute," the Daily Snack quoted him as saying, while talking of the move to Mississippi.
"If (Elvis) wants to come to the opening, he can certainly come back," he added.
Among the collection is a tape recording of Elvis' voice made long after his death, and FBI documents proving the singer's involvement with US government authorities.
The collection also includes replicas of the Cadillac that was once driven by Elvis, and the coffin and gravestone from his 1977 funeral.
Key said that he was aiming to use Elvis memorabilia to boost tourism in Tupelo, where the King was born and bought his first guitar.
He also revealed that people wishing to buy the collection had already started approaching him.
"So far, the highest offer I got today was 15,000 dollars (7,142 pounds)," Key said.
"I said, 'No thank you'. This is part of history, to me it's a pretty major thing. This needs to be carried on," he added.
The treasure was auctioned by one 81-year-old Bill Beeny.
