Steven Spielberg is to be honoured by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 65th annual Golden Globes.

Washington, Nov 15 : Steven Spielberg is to be honoured by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. with the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 65th annual Golden Globes.

Josh Brolin made the announcement at a conference at the Beverly Hilton on Wednesday, Nov 14.

The award is in recognition of the director's outstanding contribution in the field of entertainment.

Spielberg will receive his award Jan. 13 during the Golden Globes ceremony held at the Beverly Hilton, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Spielberg, a six-time Golden Globe recipient, has garnered an additional 12 nominations during a career that has spanned close to 40 years.

He not only has two Academy Awards under his belt, but has been nominated a number of times for giving the world films like "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestial" and "Jaws".

He now joins past honorees Warren Beatty, Anthony Hopkins and Robin Williams.

Spielberg is currently busy working on postproduction on "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," starring Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett and Shia LaBeouf.
