London, Nov 15 : Television show bosses for BBC's 'Dr Who' have roped in chart-topping singer Lily Allen to fill the role of the doctor's assistant.
Lily Allen is all set to take over from comedian Catherine Tate who is currently filming the part.
Lily's background and the fact that the corporation recently gave her a chat show, proves that they have long-term plans for the singer.
"Lily is multi-talented. She comes from more of a TV background than a musical one. After the chat show we hope she'll take over from Catherine as Dr Who's assistant," the Sun quoted a source, as saying.
"We've talked to her and she was excited by the idea," they added.
Lily wouldn't be the first singer to play the part of Dr Who's assistant. Pop starlet Billie Piper took the part recently with Freema Agyeman filling the role most recently.
