London, May 3 : Pop star Justin Timberlake is planning to step away from his solo career to write country and hip hop songs for other artists.
The SexyBack singer said in a US interview that he wants to take a new direction and would love to get back to his Tennessee roots.
"I've had a good share of the spotlight. I don't feel like I need too much of it right now. I want to write country music, because that's where I grew up - Tennessee," The Sun quoted him, as saying.
"Soul music... I want to be involved in hip hop. And sometimes I feel the only way to really express all those different sides, even just for myself, is through different people," he added.
Timberlake has recently been linked with Hollywood sirens Scarlett Johansson and Jessica Biel.
