Washington, May 25 : Late American guitarist, singer and songwriter Jimi Hendrix's historic performance at Woodstock will be commemorated through an art exhibition now.
The rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner gig saw Hendrix headline the iconic 1969 Woodstock Festival before his death in 1970, at the age of 27.The exhibition called 'Star-Spangled Banner Recurring' is being organised by Newcastle based British artist, Graham Dolphin, Contactmusic reports.
The performance will reportedly be presented repeatedly across a 12-panel grid with each panel starting half a second after the last.
It will take place at the Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art in Gateshead, England, until 28 June.
Although a number talented and popular musicians were invited to the Woodstock festival, including 'The Who', 'Santana', the 'Grateful Dead', and 'Jefferson Airplane', Hendrix was considered to be the festival's main attraction.
