Washington, May 25 : French actress Audrey Tautou is all set to play veteran fashion visionary Coco Chanel in a new biopic.
French director Anne Fontaine recently said that she is working on a story about Chanel before she became famous.
Fontaine also revealed that she has tapped in Tautou to play the renowned French fashion designer.
"I wanted to follow the interior path of this young woman who was poor, without education, but who had an uncommon personality that was ahead of her time," Contactmusic quoted Fontaine, as saying.
Tautou shot to fame with her portrayal of the title character in the award-winning French film Amelie, and recently played Sophie Neveu in the 2006 controversial movie 'The Da Vinci Code'.
