Spanish actor/singer Antonio Banderas is all set to star in the movie adaptation of Laura Restrepos prize-winning thriller Leopard in the Sun.

New York, May 23 : Spanish actor/singer Antonio Banderas is all set to star in the movie adaptation of Laura Restrepo's prize-winning thriller 'Leopard in the Sun'.

The film will be produced by Muse Film mogul Chris Hanley, the New York Post reports.

The 1993 novel is about a feud between two Colombian drug families, which escalates into a bloody, high-stakes war that leaves no one in its path untouched.

Hanley is known for making offbeat films like 'American Psycho' which is based on a 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis, 'The Virgin Suicides' and 'Buffalo 66'.

The 'Spy Kids' actor's film will reportedly begin shooting in August in Columbia.

Banderas' recent release has been 'Shrek 3' in which he once again lent his voice to Puss In Boots.
