London, May 15 : 'Desperate Housewives' star Felicity Huffman insists that she was joking when she told people that she was slightly tipsy on the sets of her new flick 'Georgia Rule'.
Huffman tried to set the record straight after a hullabaloo was created over the joke.
"I was drunk a little bit of it, but not a lot. I wish I could have done it drunk," Daily Express quoted Huffman, as saying at the time.
The 44-year-old insisted that her being drunk was just said as a joke but was taken too seriously.
"That was a joke and it got pulled out of context. But I like that I'm known now as the drinking actress. Once people see the movie, God willing, the performances will eclipse any gossip," she said.
Huffman is starring alongside Lindsay Lohan, Jane Fonda, Garrett Hedlund, Cary Elwes and Dermot Mulroney in the comedy-drama film directed by Garry Marshall.
The Academy Award nominated actress, who plays Lindsay Lohan's troubled mother in the film, was all praise for her young co-star.
"The minute I met her I just loved her. She cares about the work. She throws herself in 100 per cent. She's fantastic in the movie," she added.
