Russell Crowe teams up with Ridley Scott for 'Nottingham'

Hollywood director Ridley Scott will direct actor Russell Crowe in a drama titled 'Nottingham', which is a revisionist take on the Robin Hood tale, according to Variety.

Melbourne, May 1 : Hollywood director Ridley Scott will direct actor Russell Crowe in a drama titled "Nottingham", which is a revisionist take on the Robin Hood tale, according to Variety.

The film will show Crowe playing the Sheriff of Nottingham, and portray him as a noble and brave lawman working for a crooked king. The upright enforcement officer will also engage himself in a love triangle between Maid Marion and Robin Hood, reports Moviehole.

The script was written by Showtime's Sleeper Cell creators Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris and Crowe became attached to it when Universal picked up the spec screenplay.

Scott plans on directing the movie as soon as he finishes his untitled CIA thriller for Warner Brothers, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio.

Crowe and Scott have earlier worked together on "Gladiator", "A Good Year" and "American Gangster".
