Joan Collins is desperate to join the cast of hit TV series Desperate Housewives, despite the fact that bosses have turned her down on a previous occasion.

Washington, June 25 : Joan Collins is desperate to join the cast of hit TV series 'Desperate Housewives', despite the fact that bosses have turned her down on a previous occasion.

The veteran star insists that the series is one of the 'best things' to happen to US television, and would love to be part of the cast.

"Desperate Housewives is one of the best things ever to hit television. I'd jump at a television series," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

And, she's even willing to go under the knife to land a part in the show.

"And, if the lighting cameraman said to me, 'Joan, I've tried everything, I simply can't make you look good anymore,' maybe that's the time I'd consider a little cosmetic help," she said.

Collins missed out on the chance of joining the cast in the role of Teri Hatcher's mother in 2005, when bosses chose fellow actress Lesley Ann Warren over her.
