She further fuelled the rumours when she decided to sit at her management company, CAA's table the night she was honoured at the recent Women in Film Awards.
Unfortunately for the paparazzi and gossip columnists, Bridget Jones didn't let on who her secret agent man might be.
Zellweger's rep later shot down the rumours reports the New York Daily News.
At the event however, Zellweger told a packed crowd as she accepted the award form Harvey Weinstein that she had not expected it to be as 'emotional' a moment as it turned out.
"I didn't expect this to be such an emotional experience," she said.
Then she joked: "Now my fake eyelashes are going to fall off."
The actress recently sparked off a health concern when she was snapped missing all her famous curves and looking stick think, causing people to believe that she had been bitten by the size-zero bug.
