Fame making me a target for false allegations, says Sean Stewart

Rocker Rod Stewarts son, Sean, has hit out at the couple that has sued him for assault, for targetting him because he is rich and famous.

Washington, June 14 : Rocker Rod Stewart's son, Sean, has hit out at the couple that has sued him for assault, for targetting him because 'he is rich and famous'.

Sean Stewart was arrested on June 12 on charges of battery and assault in Hollywood.

His lawyer released a statement saying that extensive investigation reveals that what actually happened on the night is totally different from the account narrated by the complaining witness.

"We have conducted an extensive investigation since these allegations were first raised. We have interviewed numerous witnesses who were at the party on the night of the incident. Our investigation has revealed that what occurred on the night of the incident is much different than what the complaining witness has alleged," TMZ quoted the statement.

The statement added that details of the investigation will be passed on the prosecutor, and that the victim had mentioned Sean Stewart as the suspect only after realising that he was present in the party.

The lawyer added that the victim has a 'financial motive' to make the allegations.

"We will share our investigation with the prosecution at the appropriate time. Our investigation has shown that the alleged victim only named Sean Stewart as a suspect after hearing that Mr. Stewart was at the party that night and that the alleged victim had a financial motive to make these allegations against Mr. Stewart," the statement added.

The statement also said that there is evidence to prove it was the victim who actually committed the crime.

"Our investigation has also revealed that any crimes which may have been committed that night, were in fact committed by the person who claims to be the victim," the statement added.

Tolabus and Ericka Stein claim that they were driving in their Ford F150 along Miller Drive, Los Angeles on the night of April 23, when Stewart began "swinging his arms, punching, throwing bricks and other items".In a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on May 8, the couple have also alleged that they underwent "shock, horror, fright, worry, grief, shame, embarrassment, anger, chagrin and nausea."
