Washington, June 13 : Just when fans were popping that bottle of champagne over the news that Naomi Watts had secretly tied the knot with fiance Liev Schreiber, comes the news that there has been no marriage.
And, the news comes from none other than Schreiber's rep.
"They're not married," People quoted the rep, as saying.
The misunderstanding started on Sunday, June 10, when Schreiber told Entertainment Tonight while heading for the Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York City that he and Watts had gotten married.
"We are married. You got it first. Break the story!" the actor had said.
However, as it turns out, Schreiber, who lost out to a Tony Award for best actor to Frank Langella for Frost/Nixon, was just joking.
But fans do have something to look forward to, for the couple will soon be becoming parents when Watts gives birth to her first baby late summer this year.
The British-Australian actress recently revealed that she is blissfully enjoying her state as an expecting mum.
The 39-year-old insisted that she is happy to be pregnant and is relishing every bit of it.
"[I'm] just being relaxed and moving at a much slower pace and enjoying it. I'm just really happy to be pregnant," Watts said.
