George Michael vying for 50 million pounds Hirst skull

Pop star George Michael is mulling over offering 50 million pounds to Damien Hirst to purchase his latest artwork, a diamond-encrusted skull.

London, June 12 : Pop star George Michael is mulling over offering 50 million pounds to Damien Hirst to purchase his latest artwork, a diamond-encrusted skull.

The singer already owns art-pieces worth 100 million pounds, including creations by Hirst.

He and his partner Kenny Goss were given a private viewing of the piece, covered in 8,601 diamonds.

According to reports, bearing the cost of the artwork should not be difficult for Michael, for his historic gig at the Wembley Stadium generated a huge revenue, with 75,000 fans attending it.

The audience hailed the first two concerts-on Saturday and Sunday nights-at the newly developed stadium in seven years as a huge success.

"It was mobbed at the front, right under the stage, but further back there was a lot of space. There were people doing silly dances and even cartwheels," the Daily Mail quoted a fan as saying.

"For those of us who had been to the old stadium, you could see the difference - the facilities were so much better, and although the space was bigger at the new stadium, it also has a more intimate feel to it," the fan added.

Michael was the first star to perform at the 90,000-capacity stadium, which reopened earlier this year after a 793million pound development.
