Washington, June 10 : Heart-throb Enrique Iglesias has slammed reports that he and his dad, Julio don't get along.
The singer admits that while he hasn't met his father since his grandfather died in 2005, and has yet to meet his stepbrother Guillermo, he and his father really do get along.
"For a lot of people, it's difficult to understand. But my dad and I really get along. When we see each other we laugh," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.
"We speak sometimes - it's hard because he is travelling all the time," he says.
However, Enrique does also admit that he is in some way to blame for not keeping in touch with his father.
"It's probably my fault because I left home at 19 and in a way, I never turned back," he says.
As to why he never looked back since moving out, well that's because he couldn't stand being under 'control freak' dad Julio's thumb any longer.
"My dad is pretty much a control freak. And I feel like I was probably the first thing in his life he couldn't control," the singer says.
