English singer Robbie Williams is reportedly being lined up to star in the new Star Trek flick.
Washington, July 29 : English singer Robbie Williams is reportedly being lined up to star in the new 'Star Trek' flick.
The 'Angels' singer, a huge fan of sci-fi films, has been offered the role of Captain James T. Kirk, which was made famous by William Shatner in the original television series and subsequent films.
J. J. Abrams, the director of the yet-to-be-titled movie, is in the final stages of talks with Williams.
He considers Williams to be the right choice for Captain Kirk's role.
"I think he'd be a good Captain Kirk. The Kirk in my movie is quite young, it's like the early years. But I can't comment on who we are casting just yet. Everyone will just have to wait and see," Female First quoted him as saying.
Meanwhile, it has been revealed that two actors will play the character Spock in the new 'Star Trek' movie.
Leonard Nimoy will again appear reprising his role as the Vucan space traverller, while 'Heroes' star Zachary Quinto will play a younger version of the logical alien.
Nimoy says that he is very excited about the new movie in the famous franchise.
