Washington, July 26 : The big screen adaptation of Marvel Comics 'Iron Man' will have the title character, American billionaire Anthony Stark, driving German automobile manufacturer Audi's R8 supercar.
Audi has followed the footsteps of Dodge, who conjured a deal with Fox to bring in its moniker and power the design of the Fantasticar in "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer."
The company will also bring in millions to promote the film due for a 2008 release.
Also making an appearance in the film is upcoming S5 sports coupe with Audi's A6 sedan and Q7 SUV.
"It's a big deal whether it's a character that millions of people are familiar with or if people are not as familiar with. There's so much product going out that anything you can do to make your film stand out is important," Variety quoted Marvel Studios prexy of production Kevin Feige, as saying.
"The car fit very well with the aesthetic the production designer was putting together. The R8 hooked filmmakers in part because elements of the car's design closely resemble Iron Man's superhero garb,' he added.
The film, which will be produced by Jon Favreau, will have Robert Downey Jr playing the superhero.
