Harry Potter star Helena Bonham Carter found out just how dangerous using a wand can be, after she left co-star Matthew Lewis with a bloodied ear.
London, July 20 : Harry Potter star Helena Bonham Carter found out just how dangerous using a wand can be, after she left co-star Matthew Lewis with a bloodied ear.
Bonham Carter, who plays Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange in the new flick 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix', was supposed to be torturing Matthew Lewis' character Neville Longbottom in one scene and decided to put her wand in his year.
To her horror, the actor leaned towards her and the wand went in further than expected, drawing blood.
"I was mortified. I was torturing him in this scene and I thought it would be a fun idea to use my wand as a cotton bud and just give his ear a cleaning. But it went too far in; as I put it in he leaned towards me and it did draw blood inside his ear. That was terrible," the Daily Express quoted her, as saying.
Thankfully for the Academy award nominated star, she didn't leave Lewis with permanent damage, even though she now shouts at the young actor when she's speaking to him.
"Luckily I didn't cause any permanent damage but I still started speaking up when I was talking to him - I kept shouting, 'Neville, Neville...' I felt I had to shout at him all the time so he could hear me," she added.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix hit theatres around the world on July 12. The final book, 'The Deathly Hallows' will be released to the public at one minute past midnight on July 21.
