Jessica Simpsons upcoming flick Blonde Ambition has reportedly been shifted twice from its release date because the singer/actress dad manager Joe feels that the movie will not be able to stand competition from other films.
New York, July 2 : Jessica Simpson's upcoming flick 'Blonde Ambition' has reportedly been shifted twice from its release date because the singer/actress' dad manager Joe feels that the movie will not be able to stand competition from other films.
According to a source, the release date was shifted twice in August as Simpson's dad felt that the film will not be able to face competition.
"First, the release date was set for Aug. 3, and then it was delayed until the last week of August," New York Daily News quoted a source, as saying.
"Papa Joe then intervened and said he wasn't comfortable with the level of competition from other films that month," the source added.
Another source insisted that the 26-year-old was not very focussed while shooting the film, for she always had her dog around on the sets and was busy on phone with her then boyfriend singer John Mayer.
"Jessica was not very focused on-set and flubbed her lines often. She always had her dog around, was on the phone with [then-] boyfriend John Mayer or was sitting in a warmed-up SUV," the source said.
The film is reportedly inspired by the theme of the Academy Award-winning Melanie Griffith starrer 'Working Girl'.
Simpson stars in the leading role as a small town girl who moves to New York City and rises up the ladder to become a great career as a businesswoman.
Earlier, the film reportedly received 'not so good' reviews for its trailers.
