Washington, July 2 : Richard Roundtree has signed on to play a racer-turned-commentator in Warner Bros. Pictures' new movie 'Speed Racer'.
The film revolves around a young racecar driver Speed, and his quest for glory in his thundering, gadget-laden Mach 5.
Matthew Fox, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon, and John Goodman are the other actors starring in the movie, which is based on Larry and Andy Wachowski's live-action adaptation of the 1960s cartoon of the same name.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the shooting for the movie is underway in Berlin.
Roundtree is well known for portraying iconic character John Shaft in the film 'Shaft'.
He recently completed the miniseries 'Final Approach' and the telefilm 'Point of Entry' for the Hallmark Channel.
