Tom Cruise has just added to his real-estate portfolio by snapping up a 3.5 million estate in one of the most posh areas of California, a move that will now see him and wife Katie Holmes calling talk show queen Oprah Winfrey their neighbour.
Washington, July 19 : Tom Cruise has just added to his real-estate portfolio by snapping up a 3.5 million estate in one of the most posh areas of California, a move that will now see him and wife Katie Holmes calling talk show queen Oprah Winfrey their neighbour.
Cruise has bought a three-acre property with existing building plans for a lavish home, from Rob Lowe and his wife Sheryl, in celeb town Montecito.
And though there's no house that's ready for the Cruises to move into straight away, they will be able to build their dream home any way they want to.
"Tom could use the plans for a house that Rob did, or he could have his own custom design," a Montecito local was quoted by the website, as saying.
Oprah Winfrey bought a place in Montecito back in for a staggering 50 million dollars.
Her 42-acre property included a 23,000 square foot mansion and a 2,000 square foot guesthouse.
Other famous celebs who will also be rubbing shoulders with Cruise and Holmes include Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi, former Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Kirk Douglas.
