Publishers in the country are bracing up to stop the piracy of the latest Harry Potter novel, ahead of its official launch.
New Delhi, July 19 : Publishers in the country are bracing up to stop the piracy of the latest Harry Potter novel, ahead of its official launch.
The seventh and final of J. K. Rowling's fictional sequel--Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-- would be officially launched in the Indian market on Saturday.
The book's distributors in the country have already issued an anti-piracy alert and roped in the services of a Delhi-based law firm to deal with piracy.
Thomas Abraham, Chief Executive Officer of Penguin Books India, was apprehensive that the book could be pirated again since last time it was pirated roughly in 36 hours.
"The bookseller needs to get a fair chance to sell the legal edition and the fans to buy the top quality edition," Abraham said.
Abraham further gave details of the measures taken to check piracy of the latest edition.
"We have retained a professional law firm called ACA-Law, who along with a network of investigators in coordination with the police and a 24-hour-hotline will check piracy. We hope to keep the early potter sale period clean in India," said Abraham.
As the excitement and intrigue around its release grows, booksellers around the world are taking strict measure to stop its piracy.
