Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple, has topped a list of the most influential people in web music compiled by US magazine Blender.
Washington, July 19 : Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple, has topped a list of the most influential people in web music compiled by US magazine Blender.
The American entrepreneur, who is considered to be the father of the iPod, was followed by co-founders of the MySpace, Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe, at the second spot in the 'Powergeek 25' list.
YouTube pioneers, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, and Universal Music Group Chairman, Doug Morris, secured third and fourth places respectively.
Founder of web magazine Pitchfork, Ryan Schreiber completed the top five positions, at the fifth place.
Editor-in-chief of the magazine, Craig Marks, said that music lovers spend most of the time downloading music.
He added that today's power brokers no longer conform to standards of the traditional record business.
"Music fans spend much of their day, if not their life, sitting in front of their computer, discovering and downloading music," the Hollywood Reporter quoted Marks, as saying
"Today's power brokers no longer work in the steel-and-glass towers of the traditional record business; instead, they're tech geeks, bedroom bloggers and Silicon Valley visionaries,' he added.
