Spice Girls Reunion tour is a planet poisoning pop

The much hyped Spice Girls Reunion tour has been condemned as planet poisoning pop by environmentalists.

London, July 12 : The much hyped Spice Girls Reunion tour has been condemned as planet poisoning pop by environmentalists.

Green campaigners are enraged that each band member will be given their own private jet for the multi-date show.

According to reports, record label Virgin will provide Lear jets big enough to carry each of the Girls' entourages, their seven children and collective nannies.

The show, which will stop at the likes of Las Vegas, Sydney and Madrid will be incredibly scary for the planet because of the of pollution the tour will produce.

Alex Lambie, head of green energy switching and comparison site greenhelpline.com has calculated that the Spice Girls will generate an immense 9,500tonnes of carbon dioxide through flights alone.

"It's everyone's responsibility to limit the damage we're doing to our planet. But clearly, some celebrities feel they don't count. While we have events like Live Earth to raise awareness, many stars are still taking huge liberties such as using private jets," The Sun quoted Lambie, as saying.

"Even small steps can help us cut down our carbon footprints - like turning off lights, insulating our homes or switching to greener energy. Let's just hope the Spice Girls have a rethink before they fly in the face of good advice," he added.

Following the reports, the initial excitement over the ten-year reunion amongst fans has now died down.

"When you have concerts like Live Earth encouraging us all to be green, you get the Spice Girls pulling a stunt like this. Just who do they think they are?" an ex-fan said.
