Snapper faces jail for assaulting Mills

The photog found guilty of assaulting Heather Mills may have to spend some time cooling his heels in the slammer.

London, July 12 : The photog found guilty of assaulting Heather Mills may have to spend some time cooling his heels in the slammer.

Mills had accused snapper Jay Kaycappa, of grabbing her shoulder in an effort to take her photograph in a Brighton subway, in July 2006.

Last month on June 21, the Dancing with the Stars performer told Brighton Magistrates' Court that the happening left her feeling like "a trapped animal". Kaycappa was also accused of assaulting Lady McCartney's friend, Mark Payne, in Brighton, the following evening.

He has now been found guilty on both charges, and will be sentenced on August 16, till which he has been freed on unconditional bail.

Juliet Smith, the chairman of the bench told him that one option was him spending time behind bars.

Phil Hall, spokesman for Miss Mills-McCartney, said that the animal rights activist was "delighted" that justice had been done.

"Heather is delighted justice has been done and hopes the photographers who pursue her on a daily basis will now leave her and her daughter alone," the Daily Mail quoted him, as saying.
