Jessica Alba admits her relationship with her parents became incredibly strained after she accepted former boyfriend Michael Weatherlys proposal at the young age of 20.
Washington, July 12 : Jessica Alba admits her relationship with her parents became incredibly strained after she accepted former boyfriend Michael Weatherly's proposal at the young age of 20.
Alba and Weatherly met on the sets of the hit series 'Dark Angel' and apart from playing lovers on-screen, they also started a romantic relationship off-screen.
However, Alba's parents Max and Catherine were not amused when she accepted Weatherly's marriage proposal at the age of 20.
Now, Alba admits that her parents were right to worry.
"I don't know (why I got engaged). I was a virgin. He was 12 years older than me. I thought he knew better. My parents weren't happy," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
Alba also puts their disapproval down to the fact that her parents are both very religious people.
"They're really religious. They believe God wouldn't allow The Bible to be written if it wasn't what they are supposed to be believe. I'm completely different," she added.
Alba and Weatherly were together for four years before they called off their relationship and went separate ways. She is now dating director's assistant Cash Warren.
