London, July 11 : The two video games developed by Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg will be unveiled at the E3 conference in Los Angeles.
The filmmaker has collaborated with Electronic Arts, the word's largest publisher and distributor of video games, on three titles, reveals Neil Young, General Manager of the firm's Los Angeles studio.
He, however, furnished information only about two of them-one codenamed LMNO, a contemporary action adventure; and the second with codename PQRS, a puzzle game designed for Nintendo's Wii console. Young also described the puzzle game as a mix of Saturday-morning cartoon and Jenga.
"Of course just playing with blocks does not a game make," the BBC quoted him as saying.
"Now imagine there are up to 50 different properties that can be associated with them. They can explode or form a chemical reaction," he added.
The website also reports that Spielberg had said in an interview with Newsweek magazine that the puzzle game "seemed like a great thing for the entire family to play together over Christmas; although you don't need the excuse of a holiday to enjoy it."
So far as the game codenamed LMNO is concerned, the magazine report describes its title as 'North by Northwest meets ET'.
In the game, being designed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the player partners with a female character who evolves over time depending on she interacts with other characters.
"The challenge is, can the game have an emotional impact on players while they are actively manipulating the world?" Spielberg said.
The director also said that his collaboration with EA has been a thrilling experience for him.
"I am truly enjoying the creative collaboration and we hope that gamers will be as excited as we are about what we can bring to the medium through our shared vision," he said.
The report did not furnish any details about the third game on which Spielberg is working.
