Actress Halle Berry will be honoured with the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 5.

London, Dec 7 : Actress Halle Berry will be honoured with the Desert Palm Achievement Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 5.

The Oscar-winning-actress is being honoured for her work in the movie 'Things We Lost in the Fire.'

"We're excited to honor Halle Berry for her impressive body of work and mesmerizing performance in this year's 'Things We Lost in the Fire,'" Variety quoted Earl Greenburg, Fest chairman, as saying.

Among other honourees of the Awards gala, to be hosted by Mary Hart, will be 'Into the Wild' director Sean Penn, Daniel Day-Lewis, producer Jerry Weintraub and thesps Marion Cotillard, Emile Hirsch and Nikki Blonsky.

Past Desert Palm recipients include Charlize Theron, Laura Linney, Naomi Watts and Kate Winslet.
