New York, Dec 27 : Will Smith might have lived up to his role in 'I Am Legend,' but the original choice for the character was Arnold Schwarzenegger.
A source has revealed that the 'Terminator' star was the first choice of producers, but later the actor refused to work, as he was not interested in the project anymore.
"That script was floating around Hollywood for 12 years," the New York Post quoted the source, as saying.
"Arnold was originally attached to it right after the box office success of 'Terminator 2,' but all of a sudden he decided he wasn't interested and the project was shelved," the source added.
Schwarzenegger went on to sign 'Last Action Hero' and 'Collateral Damage,' instead.
