London, Dec 21 : Britney's aunt Chanda McGovern has warned pregnant Jamie-Lynn Spears against taking parenting tips from her elder sister.
Chanda is the ex-wife of Jamie Lynn's uncle John Spears, who lived just a block away from Britney and Jamie-Lynn's house.
She said that Jamie-Lynn is too young to have a baby now, and the news of her pregnancy came as a shock to the whole family.
"We were all so shocked. She has her whole life ahead of her and was far too young to be sexually active. She is still a baby herself," The Sun quoted her, as saying.
She wants that the 16-year-old, who is three months pregnant with her first child, should seek advice from more stable sources than her sister Britney.
"I hope Jamie Lynn does not take any kind of parenting tips from Britney. Britney needs to get her life sorted before she starts trying to help others," she said.
However, Chanda also reckons the possibility that the Nickelodeon star got pregnant on purpose, in order to outshine her more famous big sister.
"I do believe Jamie Lynn may be feeling the disruption of the family with everything that's going on," she said.
She added: "It may be one of the reasons she went out and did what she did, and whether she got pregnant on purpose or by accident, that's the reason she went out and rebelled."
"She wants a little bit of 'me' attention, with everything that's going on with Britney like it is."
