London, Dec 17 : British comedian Russell Brand could soon be the next big thing in Hollywood, what with having a movie written just for him.
The 32-year-old actor has won accolades for playing a trendy British rocker in the romantic comedy 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall'.
And it's not only the preview audience that has been left impressed but also award-winning writer and director Judd Apatow.
So bowled over by Brand's performance was Apatow that he is penning a lead role especially for the bed-hopping star, a movie source revealed.
"Russell isn't a big name in the States, but audiences there said he's the best thing in the film," The Sun quoted the source, as saying.
"He's very talented and could become huge in Hollywood. I'm sure he'd enjoy that," said the source.
The source also revealed that it would be foolish for any director not to cast Brand in lead roles.
"Now I'm sure he'll get cast in a lead role as a ladies' man and a joker. It would be mad not to," said the source.
Russell, who went to London's Italia Conti stage school, will be starring as Flash Harry in the new St Trinian's film 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' being renamed 'Dumped' and is due out next June.
