Washington, Dec 14 : Jessica Simpson's new film 'Blonde Ambition' will not be hitting theatres, heading instead for a straight to DVD release.
The romantic comedy, which co-stars Luke Wilson, will hit stores on January 22.
A source has revealed that the film is a dud primarily because of the Simpson's performance and is therefore going for a DVD release.
"The movie is absolutely horrible. It's just a bomb, mainly because of Jessica's acting," Usmagazine quoted the source, as saying.
Simpson's representative had earlier insisted: "It's definitely a theatrical release."
