London, Dec 10: Singer Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has slammed reports claiming that she has been deserted by her family.
The wrath came after Winehouse's mother wrote an open letter to a paper begging the singer to come home.
Mitch claimed that it was absolute rubbish that the 24-year-old singer has been abandoned, stating that he had seen her other many times.
"It is absolute rubbish to suggest that no one has been in touch with Amy. I've seen her five times myself last week. We're getting sick of the sight of each other, we are seeing each other that much," Mirror quoted Mitch as saying.
He said that they all are encouraging and helping the 'Rehab' singer.
"Amy is monitored all the time. She is with trusted people who care for her and look out for her. We are all encouraging and helping Amy at the minute and that is what is most important," he added.
The troubled singer's mother Janis, 52had written an open letter to a Sunday paper asking her to come back after seeing her barefoot and in her bra in the early hours in a snap.
Mitch split with Janis when Amy was nine.
