New York, Dec 10 : "Atonement" star James McAvoy was quite an actor in his childhood, for he once managed to convince his sister he was dead.
The 28-year-old actor confessed that the worst lie he ever told was that he was dead while playing a game of hide-and-seek with his then 8 year-old sister.
The star recalled what happened when he was discovered by his younger sibling a little too early, reports The New York Post.
"Found you," she said. "No, you haven't. I'm not James. I'm James' ghost."
Apparently his sis believed the future "Last King of Scotland" star and alerted the household.
"So my grandmother comes running upstairs, finds me laughing my head off, and beats the living hell out of me," McAvoy confessed.
The BAFTA-winning Scottish actor is starring in a new movie about misguided youth.
