The 31-year-old, who was awarded an Oscar for Walk The Line, commands 15 million dollars to 20 million dollars per movie, an amount that has placed her atop The Hollywood Reporter's annual list of highest paid actresses.
Angelina Jolie came in second with similar salary demands, although her latest movie Beowulf earned the 32-year-old actress far less - just 8 million dollars.
Cameron Diaz was third, with a price tag of 15 million dollars per movie, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
Aussie beauty Nicole Kidman bagged the fourth place with an asking price of 10 to 15 million dollars a film.
Renee Zellweger and Sandra Bullock came fifth and sixth, with per movie earnings of 10 million to 15 million dollars.
Pretty Woman star Julia Roberts, who hasn't appeared on the big screen since 2004, stood seventh with a pay cheque of 10 million-15 million dollars.
Rounding out the top 10 were Drew Barrymore and Jodie Foster, who ask 10 million to 12 million dollars per project, and Halle Berry, who gets 10 million dollars a picture.
