JLo wins legal battle over exs tell-all book

Actress-singer Jennifer Lopez has been awarded 545,000 dollars in her legal battle with her former husband, Ojani Noa, over a tell-all book.

Washington, Aug. 9 : Actress-singer Jennifer Lopez has been awarded 545,000 dollars in her legal battle with her former husband, Ojani Noa, over a tell-all book.

The star's attorney, Paul Sorrell, has confirmed the amount that the arbiter presiding over the hearing has awarded to her.

Although he did not comment on Lopez's reaction, he said, "I think she'd just like to see this be over," reports E!online.

The actress sued Noa in 2006 after the New York Post reported that the latter was making the publishing rounds with a Lopez-themed book proposal. In her lawsuit, she claimed that Noa's book contained intimate details about their relationship.

The arbiter's decision, handed down in April, was recently uncovered by a local Los Angeles wire service after representatives for Lopez filed papers on August 6 seeking a confirmation of the ruling by the L.A. County Superior Court.

Exactly 544,814.21 dollars were awarded to Lopez, of which 200,000 dollars were for damages and the rest for attorney and arbitration fees.

Noa, who was unavailable for comment, has not challenged the arbitration ruling.

"We don't know what he's doing. He may be out there trying to exploit this thing," Sorrell said.

Lopez had obtained a still-standing preliminary injunction in 2006 that barred Noa from broadcasting, publishing or otherwise making money off Lopez-related "intimate details".
