Paxton bribed Perkins for Psycho 3 role

Actor Bill Paxton was so desperate to star in 1986 flick Psycho 3 that he bribed actor/director Anthony Perkins with goodies.

Washington, Aug 9 : Actor Bill Paxton was so desperate to star in 1986 flick 'Psycho 3' that he bribed actor/director Anthony Perkins with goodies.

The 52-year-old revealed that he was so keen to land a role in the film that to persuade Perkins to hire him, he a Mother's Day gift to the director addressed to Norman Bates, the central character of the film, which was played by the director himself.

His charm however failed, for though Perkins kept the gift, he didn't cast Paxton in the film.

"I came very close to Psycho lll. It was just before Mother's Day and I sent Anthony Perkins a box of chocolates with a Mother's Day card that said, 'To Mrs Bates, in care of Norman Bates'," Contactmusic quoted Baxton, as saying.

"He got a big kick out of it, but I didn't get the part," he said.
