Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatchers has slammed Hollywood for not offering adequate choices for ageing female stars.

Washington, Aug 9 : 'Desperate Housewives' star Teri Hatchers has slammed Hollywood for not offering adequate choices for ageing female stars.

Hatcher has also accused her show's bosses of not realising that most of the actresses on her own show are also above 40.

"I don't believe they intended to cast women over 40. We didn't look like we were over 40 and then after we were cast, we all realised that's what had happened."

Hatcher's Desperate Housewives co-stars Marcia Cross, Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan and Eva Longoria are aged 45, 44, 43 and 32 respectively.

Rumours are also rife that one of the female characters in the series will meet a shocking end, reports the Sun.

Season three final showed Nicollette Sheridan trying to hang herself.
