Warner Brothers are planning to make the first big screen adaptation of animated television series Jonny Quest.
Washington, Aug 8 : Warner Brothers are planning to make the first big screen adaptation of animated television series 'Jonny Quest'.
The film will be produced by Askarieh and Daviel Alter who handled the live-action videogame-based flick 'Hitman'.
Dan Mazeau will pen the script for the popular 1960s TV series from Hanna-Barbera, Variety magazine reports.
The series revolved around the adventures of a young boy, who accompanies his father, his adopted brother from India, bulldog Bandit and a government agent, as they investigate scientific mysteries.
With 'Harry Potter' winding down, the studio is hoping to turn the animated series into a family-friendly adventure franchise.
'Jonny Quest' ran on ABC in prime time for one season in 1964 - 1965. After spending two decades in reruns, new episodes were produced for syndication in 1986. Two tele-films and a spin-off series, 'The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest' later revived the characters for the 1990s.
