Washington, Aug 8 : It looks like Nicole Richie did not only beat friend and co-star Paris Hilton by walking away with less days in prison, for she also conjured more audience for her interview on ABC.
Her interview with Diane Sawyer drew 5.9 million people, as compared to 3.2 million for Hilton's post jail chat with Larry King, according to Nielsen Media Research statistics.
However, the difference in numbers may be because Richie's interview was broadcast on free TV (ABC), while the hotel heiress' chat was aired on basic cable (CNN).
On 20/20, Richie told Sawyer that she is expecting Joel Madden's child, confirming rumours that have been rife for almost two months.
Richie also spoke about her DUI conviction and admitted that she had committed a few mistakes.
"This is something that I have to do. And I really feel like I'm doing the right thing," E! Online quoted her, as saying.
Richie will do four-day jail term in Lynwood facility, where Hilton served time for driving on a suspended license.
