London, Aug 8 : Beleaguered rocker Pete Doherty has escaped prison once again, after a court granted him four weeks to get help for his drug addiction.
On August 6, Judge Davinder Lachher ordered Doherty, who is charged for the possession of charged with possession of crack, heroin, cannabis and ketamine, to clean up his ways in the given time or face jail.
His crime record also includes numerous driving and drug offences.
"It is a community order or prison. If he does not show the motivation in four weeks, it will be prison," the Daily Mail quoted Lachher, as saying.
Doherty has also had a 12-month implant inserted in his stomach to clear him off heroin during detox programme.
The 'Babyshambles' frontman has also joined a rehabilitation programme.
However, the judge insisted that the druggie singer needs to show interest to kick his habit.
"Anyone can do it for a week. I don't know to what extent he is motivated to continue. Can I make it very clear that it is either a community order or custodial. I expect him to comply with that," the judge added.
Judges have been accused of being lenient with the Brit star.
In April, district judge Jane McIvor, who claimed to be a big fan of Doherty, ordered a 770 pounds fine and a four-month driving ban after he drove under the influence of drugs without a licence.
