Washington, Aug. 7 : Actor Matt Damon has emerged as the Hollywood star whose films gross the most income at the box office for every dollar he is paid in salary.
Damon's last three films, excluding The Bourne Ultimatum, have grossed 29 dollars per buck he was paid for the roles, according to Forbes' inaugural Ultimate Star Payback list.
Brad Pitt, a crewmate of Damon on the series of Ocean's movies, ranked second with a gross income return of 24 dollars for every buck paid to him in salary.
Vince Vaughn and Johnny Depp tied for the third place, with a gross income of 21 dollars.
Wrapping up the top five was actress Jennifer Aniston, whose last three films grossed 17 dollars.
Hollywood's leading ladies tended to fare better than their male counterparts, ratio-wise, with Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon and Sandra Bullock hanging tough with 15 dollars, 14 dollars and 13 dollars, respectively.
"The biggest stars in Hollywood are not the actors that deliver the biggest returns," E!online quoted Forbes senior editor Michael Ozanian as saying in a statement.
Forbes calculated a film's net revenue by totalling its worldwide grosses and DVD sales in the US, and then subtracting the project's budget. The net revenue was then divided by an actor's total compensation to produce gross income.
All actors were ranked according to the average gross income of their last three films.
