New Delhi, Aug 7 : Bengali film 'Kaalpurush - Memories in the Mist' directed by Budhadeb Dasgupta, has been adjudged the Best Feature Film in the 53rd National Film Awards announced here today.
The award carries a Swarna Kamal and Rs 50,000 each for the producer and the director of the film.
Amitabh Bachchan bagged the Best Actor Award for his performance in Hindi film 'Black'. Sarika was named the Best Actress in recognition of her performance in Rahul Dholakia's 'Parzania'.
Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's 'Rang De Basanti' was judged the Best Popular Film providing wholesome entertainment.
'Black' directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali won the award for the Best Feature Film in Hindi.
The Award for the best film on social issues went to 'Iqbal' (Hindi), directed by Nagesh Mukunoor.
Rahul Dholakia walked away with the honours of Best Director for 'Parzania'.
The Award for the Best Male Playback Singer was bagged by Naresh Iyer for his song in 'Rang De Basanti' and the Best Female Playback singer award went to Shreya Ghoshal for her song in 'Paheli'.
Nargis Dutt Award for the Best Feature Film on National Integration went to 'Daivanamathil' (Malayalam), directed by Jayaraj.
Indira Gandhi Award for the Best First Film of a Director was given to 'Parineeta' (Hindi), directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.
