London, Aug 6 : Actress/singer Liza Minnelli went out fuming when a sales assistant mistook her for her late actress mum Judy Garland.
According to a source, the 61-year-old was shopping at the E. 66th and Third Ave. store when a shop employee told her that she resembled Garland.
"The employee asked her, 'Has anyone ever told you, you look like Judy Garland?'" the Daily News quoted the source, as saying.
Minnelli gave a cold 'no' in reply, but the confused assistant then went on to say, 'Oh my God! You're her! You are Judy Garland!" the source added.
The 'Cabaret' actress told the employee annoyingly that Garland was dead and exited from the shop.
"Ms. Minnelli looked up with fire in her eyes and snapped back, 'Judy Garland is dead!'" the source said.
"She then grabbed the pants she had been trying on and stated to no one in particular, 'I've gotta get out of here!' She made a mad dash to the registers, and then out the door." the source added.
