London, Aug. 31 : Singer Norah Jones donned a blond wig, a miniskirt and fishnet stockings when she fronted part-time country-punk band El Madmo under the pseudonym 'Maddie', recently.
The daughter of sitar maestro Pt. Ravi Shankar said that she did so because she did not want the audience to recognise her.
"There's something about putting on a blonde wig," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
"It makes you feel like a different person. We formed El Madmo as a joke. I dressed up so that nobody knew it was me. We had some good songs, but it was all about being silly," she added.
Norah is known for letting her hair down in style, for she did it four years ago when she launched her own bar-band called The Little Willies.
She did it again in 2005 when she collaborated with wild-man-of-rock Dave Grohl on The Foo Fighters song Virginia Moon.
