London, Aug. 3 : Innovative rock game 'Guitar Hero II' and 'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories' have got six nominations for the 25th Golden Joystick awards.
The nominations that the two games have got include the categories of best soundtrack and ultimate game.
Multiplayer online games 'Lord of the Rings' and 'World of Warcraft' have also made to the shortlist with five nominations each.
The winners will be decided in accordance with the gamers' votes, and unveiled at a ceremony at a London hotel on 26 October.
People interested in casting votes for their favourite titles may do so on the Golden Joystick awards website, reports the BBC.
The awards will be given in 17 categories, including mobile game of the year, girl's choice and best family game.
'Xbox 360', 'The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess', 'Wii sports', and 'Motorstorm and Resistance: Fall of Man' are the other games to feature on the shortlist.
The Golden Joystick awards were first founded in 1982 when Atari, Commodore and Spectrum were the dominant players in the market. The first ever winner was Jetpac for the Sinclair Spectrum.
