Actor James Earl Jones is set to lend his voice to the Giant in the new version of the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk.
Melbourne, Aug 3 : Actor James Earl Jones is set to lend his voice to the Giant in the new version of the fairy tale 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.
The fantasy-adventure will be directed by make-up and effects wizard Gary J.Tunnicliffe.
The fairytale revolves around a poor boy Jack who gets five ' magic beans', which grow into a gigantic beanstalk that reaches the Giant's castle.
The boy steals gold coins and a Golden hen, which lays golden eggs from the castle, and lives happily with his mother until one day he steals a magical harp that sings by itself.
Newcomer Colin Ford will play Jack while actor Chevy Chase is in a small role as the keeper of a labyrinth Jack must cross to reach the castle.
The film cast also includes 'Lost' star Daniel Roebuck who will play the mayor of Jack's hometown and actress Katy Sagal as the boy's mum.
Actor Wallace Shawn will play the guy who sells the magical beans to Jack while stand-up comedian Gilbert Gottfried will play the Golden goose.
Co-writer Flip Kobler that the comedy will not only thrill kids but adults will also enjoy it.
"There are winks and nods to pop culture and other fairy tales that adults will also enjoy," Moviehole quoted Kobler, as saying.
