Owen Wilson has dropped out of DreamWorks ensemble comedy Tropic Thunder a few days after attempting to commit suicide at his LA home.
Washington, Aug 29 : Owen Wilson has dropped out of DreamWorks' ensemble comedy 'Tropic Thunder' a few days after attempting to commit suicide at his LA home.
The actor slashed his wrists, and reportedly took an overdose of pills over the weekend. He was found by his brother who quickly alerted the cops, after which Wilson was rushed to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Wilson began shooting 'Tropic Thunder' six weeks ago in Hawaii but has now opted out of it as he recovers.
The movie is being produced by Ben Stiller's Red Hour Films, and also stars Jack Black.
"Ben and Owen have made eight movies together. And he can't wait to work with Owen again. It's just not going to be on this film," Variety quoted a source close to the project, as saying.
The movie revolves around a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie who are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying.
