Actor Samuel L. Jackson blames studio bosses for the lukewarm response his movie Black Snake Moan received at the box office.
Washington, Aug. 27 : Actor Samuel L. Jackson blames studio bosses for the lukewarm response his movie 'Black Snake Moan' received at the box office.
The cinema release of the film, which co-stars Christina Ricci and Justin Timberlake, was a flop.
The Pulp Fiction star thinks that the film could not become a blockbuster because it was not marketed in a proper manner, when it released last year.
Jackson, however, is content that the movie is findings a new audience on DVD.
"The movie didn't make a lot of money but people discovered it on DVD and found out that it's not really a movie about me making Christina Ricci my slave," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
"They (studio bosses) sort of made it look like she was my little sex slave; she had a little torn shirt on and a big chain... It didn't quite work out as well as we wanted it to," he added.
Although the film failed to win accolades, Jackson still hopes to bag a Grammy Award for the six tunes he performed on the film's soundtrack.
